Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed, on Saturday, Iraq's support for the security and stability of Lebanon, with all its components, in addition to its commitment to contributing to its reconstruction.
The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani held a telephone conversation today, Saturday, with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri."
The Prime Minister affirmed, according to the statement, "Iraq's support for the security and stability of Lebanon, with all its components, in addition to its commitment to contributing to its reconstruction. He also confirmed his approval to grant the Iraqi Ministry of Oil an exemption to supply Lebanon with fuel for a period of six months."
The Prime Minister noted "the active role played by the Lebanese Parliament Speaker in the Lebanese political situation and his rejection of the ongoing criminal attacks, especially what happened yesterday in the southern suburbs of Beirut, which are part of the occupying entity's efforts to reimpose war."
For his part, Berri thanked the Prime Minister for his supportive stance on Lebanon and its sovereignty, stressing his keenness to maintain communication with Iraq in various fields.
