Oil Ministry: We have succeeded in reaching self-sufficiency in liquid gas and exporting the surplus

    The Ministry of Oil confirmed, on Sunday, achieving self-sufficiency in liquid gas and exporting the surplus to foreign markets.

    According to a ministry statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber Ismail, visited the Middle East factory for the manufacture of liquid gas cylinders, one of the investment projects of the private sector in Basra province,” stressing “the great support given by the government and the ministry to the private sector and investment projects in all joints related to the field of liquid gas industry.”

    Ismail said: “Investment projects contribute to the development and advancement of the national industry,” stressing ”the importance of supporting the projects of factories manufacturing iron or plastic cylinders according to approved international specifications, and developing appropriate mechanisms for marketing and local consumption, in coordination with the concerned authorities in the Gas Filling and Services Company, in order to achieve the common goals of the Ministry or the investment project.”

    He pointed out, “The ministry's success in reaching self-sufficiency in liquid gas and exporting the surplus to foreign markets, where daily production reached more than eight thousand tons per day, in addition to implementing plans to develop and increase the area of consumption of liquid gas instead of liquid fuels of all kinds, by supporting investment projects, whether for industrial, service and residential projects.”

    “The Undersecretary's visit, accompanied by the Director General of the Petroleum Projects Company, the Director General of the Liquid Gas Filling and Services Company and a number of officials, included a tour of the plant and a review of the production process,” the statement said.
