The Central Bank of Iraq - CBI directed an invitation to the Ministry of Culture regarding 23 boxes containing gold and historical artifacts deposited in its vaults on Saturday.
"In light of Baghdad being chosen as the capital of Arab tourism for the year 2025 by the Arab Tourism Organization, and to provide Iraqi museums with original artifacts to be a tourist destination that attracts tourists from all over the world, CBI confirmed the existence of about 23 boxes containing gold and historical artifacts, such as the Nimrud artifacts, which were deposited in the vaults the Bank in previous years to preserve them," according to a statement by the Central Bank - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The bank called on the Ministry of Culture to receive these deposits to enhance the contents of the Iraqi National Museum and other museums.
