US President Donald Trump confirmed in a tweet on his platform (Truth) that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not ready for peace with Russia.

Trump said after his talks with Zelensky and a press conference that witnessed a verbal altercation between them, "It became clear to me that President Zelensky is not ready for peace as long as the United States is a party to the negotiations, as he sees that our support gives him a great negotiating advantage. I want peace, and he showed disrespect for the United States inside the Oval Office, and he can return when he is ready for peace." A verbal altercation erupted between the US President and the Ukrainian President during a joint press conference at the White House.

Trump told reporters, "The war between Russia and Ukraine must end," and that he does not side with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but with the interests of the United States. He addressed Zelensky, "Either you make a deal or we will walk away. You have put yourself in a predicament and you do not have bargaining and negotiating cards. If you do not make it, the United States will leave you."

Zelensky responded, "Security guarantees must be provided to Ukraine and we cannot talk about a ceasefire alone, because Putin has repeatedly failed to abide by the ceasefire." Trump responded, "Your talk is disrespectful and you risk starting World War III."
