Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani confirmed today, Friday, that Iraq will announce within the coming hours the commencement of the region's oil export operations.
The Media and Government Communication Office of the Ministry of Oil stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani visited the Khor Al-Zubair port to review the gas pipeline connection operations."
Abdul-Ghani confirmed, according to the statement, that "Iraq will announce in the coming hours the commencement of the region's oil export operations through the State Oil Marketing Company (SOMO), indicating that "the export will be through the Turkish port of Ceyhan at an initial rate of 185 thousand barrels, gradually increasing to reach the capacity specified in the general federal budget."
