PM receives an official invitation from Putin to attend the celebrations of the anniversary of the victory over Nazism

    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received, today, Wednesday, an official invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin, to attend the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism, which will be held next May.

    The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Tsivlev, where they discussed areas of joint cooperation, especially in the field of energy and the oil sector."

    The statement added, "The Prime Minister received from the Russian Minister an official invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism, which will be held next May."

    The Prime Minister stressed - according to the statement - Iraq's aspiration to expand cooperation with the Russian side in several fields, and develop partnership and expertise in the field of artificial intelligence.

    For his part, Tsevilev confirmed the progress made in the meetings of the tenth session of the Iraqi-Russian Higher Committee, held in Baghdad, where he heads his country's delegation, and the memoranda of understanding and agreements it witnessed in the fields of maritime transport, health, and the oil sector, as well as at the level of the chambers of commerce between the two countries, pointing out his country's government's aspiration for more partnership between the two countries in various fields of common interests.
