Al-Sahaf: Iraq succeeded in drying up the sources of terrorism and confronting extremist ideologies

The Chargé d'Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Tripoli, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq succeeded in drying up the sources of terrorism and confronting extremist ideologies.

Al-Sahaf said in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq is ready to provide its expertise in the fields of national reconciliation, strengthening democracy and combating terrorism, during his meeting with the member of the Libyan Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries."

Al-Sahaf stated that "Iraq has an important experience in consolidating national reconciliation, and we seek to exchange experiences with our Libyan brothers to support political stability and enhance societal cohesion."

He pointed out, "the importance of joint work in combating terrorism and extremism," stressing that "Iraq faced major challenges in this field and succeeded in drying up the sources of terrorism and confronting extremist ideologies, and we are ready to transfer this experience to our brothers in Libya."

For his part, Abdullah Al-Lafi praised the "Iraqi regional and international role", appreciating "Iraq's foreign policy based on openness and cooperation with various parties".

Al-Lafi said: "We appreciate Iraq's position and support for Libya, and we stress the importance of enhancing joint cooperation in the political and security fields".

The statement added that "this meeting comes within the framework of joint efforts to strengthen Arab relations and coordinate efforts to confront security and political challenges, in a way that contributes to achieving security and stability in the region".
