The company executing the Baghdad Sustainable Forests project announces the official launch of the works

    The company implementing the (Sustainable Baghdad Forests) project announced today, Tuesday, the official launch of work on the project to achieve a balanced environment.
    The statement of the company (Imkanat), which is implementing the project, was received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The company, within the framework of its strategic vision aimed at developing sustainable urban projects that enhance green spaces in the capital, has officially launched work on the (Sustainable Baghdad Forests) project, which represents a qualitative step towards achieving a balanced and sustainable environment, reflecting the ambition to create natural spaces with high aesthetic and environmental value."
     
    It added that "the foundation stone for the project was laid on December 7, 2024, to be the beginning of the planning and preparation phase, as the company was keen during this period to complete all engineering and administrative requirements to ensure implementation according to the highest approved standards. These works included designing the initial plans, obtaining the necessary government approvals, in addition to fixing the borders and surveying works, in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure integration between the project's planning vision and the requirements of urban development in Baghdad."
    The statement explained that "actual work in the available locations within the project began on February 22, 2025, relying on the latest engineering and planning technologies to achieve the project vision with high efficiency. Since the start of operations, a large number of mechanisms have been allocated to work on the site, in order to complete the preliminary works according to the specified timetable."
     
    He pointed out that "the project aims to provide an integrated model for a sustainable urban environment, combining vast green spaces and modern design, to form a natural outlet that keeps pace with urban developments in the capital.
     
    The company relies on environmental sustainability standards in implementing the project, through the use of modern irrigation techniques, planting various types of trees and plants that are resistant to climate, in addition to designing recreational paths and trails, and areas designated for community activities, which enhances the quality of life in Baghdad, and creates an environment friendly to humans and nature."
     
    It stressed that "the (Sustainable Baghdad Forests) project reflects the company's commitment to providing modern urban solutions based on careful planning and effective implementation, which contributes to achieving an integrated vision for sustainable urban development and puts the capital on the path of balanced environmental expansion."
     
    It added that "the company has pledged to continue working according to the highest standards, with a focus on innovation in design, efficiency in implementation, and ensuring the highest levels of quality, to provide a project that meets the aspirations of Baghdad residents and contributes to enhancing green spaces within the city, in line with modern environmental strategies." It is worth noting that the National Investment Commission has approved the Sustainable Baghdad Forests project in (formerly Rashid Camp).
