The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Mohammed Ali al-Lami, and the head of the Investment Commission, Haider Makkiya, emphasized on Sunday the need to prosecute perpetrators of bargaining and extortion.
According to a statement by the Integrity Commission, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Mohammed Ali al-Lami, discussed with the head of the Investment Commission, Haider Makiya, ways to provide an honest and safe work environment, free from bargaining and extortion, attracting investment to accelerate the pace of reconstruction and construction in the country.”
The statement added, “The two sides emphasized the need to prosecute anyone who is tempted to commit acts of bargaining and extortion, which represent an environment that repels investment and hinders government efforts in the reconstruction and development processes.”
