Iraq PM Advisor for Foreign Affairs , Farhad Ala'aldin, denied on Saturday reports of US sanctions if oil exports from the region are not resumed.
Ala'aldin said in statements monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq denies reports that the country may face US sanctions if oil exports from the Kurdistan Region are not resumed."
The statements added that "there is no truth to media reports alleging threats of sanctions on Iraq if oil exports from the Kurdistan Region are not resumed."
It pointed out that "in all the contacts that have taken place with the US administration recently, there has been no threat of sanctions or any form of pressure on Iraq."
