MOFA clarifies Al-Shaibani's visit to Iraq

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA) issued a clarification regarding the scheduled visit of Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Sheibani to Iraq.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that, "With reference to what was circulated in the media, the Ministry would like to clarify the following: The Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Sheibani, had previously received an official invitation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, to visit Iraq, and Minister Al-Sheibani expressed his desire to accept the invitation, which comes within the framework of discussing bilateral relations between the two countries and discussing regional security and political developments."

It added, "The appointment of the visit will be determined after completing the necessary coordination between the two sides, in a manner that serves the common interests."
