Iraq - Egypt cooperation agreement to be signed, tomorrow

    Iraq and Egypt were set to sign an agreement for cooperation in the fields of communications and information technology, tomorrow’s Thursday, in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly, reported the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA). 

    The report included that, "The Minister of Communications, Arkan Al-Shaibani and his Egyptian counterpart, Amr Talaat, will sign an agreement for bilateral cooperation in the fields of communications and information technology.

    "The agreement is said to aim at enhancing joint cooperation, and came in accordance with the Iraqi-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee,” added INA correspondent.


    Al-Shaibani arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, at the head of a delegation on an official visit.

    While a source from the Iraqi embassy in Cairo told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Shibani will meet a number of senior officials and personalities, including the Egyptian Minister of Communications, to discuss supporting cooperation relations between Egypt and Iraq in the fields of communications and information technology,”

    Last April, Al-Shaibani met the Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq Walid Ismail at the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications. 

    During the meeting, they discussed the Iraqi-Egyptian-Jordanian agreement and ways to develop and invest Egyptian companies in Iraq in the field of communications, telecommunications services and the Internet as well as opening the field for joint cooperation within the (Egyptian-Iraqi-Jordanian agreement) with Egyptian companies wish to invest in Iraq.
