Swiss Ambassador: Iraqi MOH will be an example to be followed in development and quality of service

    The Iraqi Ministry of Health and the Swiss company "Roche" announced today, Wednesday, strengthening their partnership through effective initiatives that the two parties will continue to implement, while the Swiss Ambassador Daniel Hohn confirmed that the Iraqi health sector will be an example to be followed in development and quality of service.

    A statement by the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the Ministry of Health announces the strengthening of their partnership through effective initiatives that the two parties will continue to implement," stressing that it is "a step that reflects their joint commitment to developing the Iraqi health sector and embodying strategic relations between the public and private sectors."

    It indicated that "this cooperation is an extension of the memorandum of understanding that was signed between the two sides two years ago, which was renewed last year to include several main axes, including: digital transformation in the health sector, enhancing the value-based decision-making approach, and improving clinical research in Iraq with many other medical axes," explaining that "(Roche) seeks to provide its global expertise to support the efforts of the ministry in Iraq in developing innovative solutions that contribute to improving the level of health services and enhancing access to advanced treatments."

    According to the statement, Minister of Health Saleh Al-Hasnawi stressed "the importance of this cooperation, saying: We are committed to developing the health care system in Iraq according to the latest international standards, and the partnership with Roche enhances our capabilities to achieve this goal by adopting digital innovation and improving health services provided to citizens."

    For his part, the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hohn, "made an official visit to the Iraqi Ministry of Health, accompanied by a delegation from Roche, headed by Alfat Barro."

    Barro explained, according to the statement, that "this visit confirms the importance of cooperation between the two sides to support initiatives to enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors, and it also came as a celebration of the joint achievements that have been made so far while exploring prospects for future cooperation to provide integrated health solutions for Iraqi patients."
