AL -Sudani issues directives regarding the incident of preventing farmers from practicing their work on the outskirts of Kirkuk

    The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, issued directives today, Tuesday, regarding the incident of preventing farmers from practicing their work on the outskirts of Kirkuk.
     
    A statement by the Security Media Cell received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed the Joint Operations Command to form a high-level investigative committee representing all parties to investigate the circumstances of the incident that occurred on the outskirts of Kirkuk as a result of preventing farmers from practicing their work."
     
    It added that "the Commander-in-Chief instructed the Deputy Minister of Justice to be sent to Kirkuk Governorate to take the necessary measures regarding the lands of common interest between the federal regions and the Kurdistan Region."
     
     
    The statement continued: "We call on our security forces, including the army, interior, Peshmerga, Popular Mobilization Forces, security and intelligence agencies, to abide by the laws and directives, exercise high self-control, act wisely and patriotically, and thwart the opportunity for those lying in wait and fishing in troubled waters. We also call on all parties and political forces to be wise and calm, give priority to the supreme national interests, abide by the law and the constitution, and work to support the security forces in preserving all security gains and common national goals."
