The Prime Minister's Advisor for Industry, Development and Private Sector Affairs, Hamoudi Al-Lami, confirmed today, Friday, the reduction of customs duties to zero percent on machinery, production equipment and raw materials in a step to support the private sector, while revealing the export of many industries to the Gulf countries and neighboring countries.
Al-Lami told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "One of the most important priorities of the government program is supporting the industrial sector, and this has been translated into government activities by holding many workshops with industrialists in various sectors and increasing the number of consultants to diagnose the problems of the industrial sector."
He added, "Important decisions have been taken to support the private sector, including reducing customs duties to zero percent on machinery, production equipment and raw materials and facilitating customs procedures at border crossings by forming a committee with 13 entities representing various ministries and the industrial sector."
