Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, today, Wednesday.
A statement by the Iraqi embassy in Ankara, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, arrived in the Turkish capital, Ankara, at the head of a high-level delegation, in response to an official invitation he received from his Turkish counterpart, Ali Yerlikaya."
The statement added that "the Minister of Interior was received at Ankara Esenboga Airport by the Deputy Minister of Interior Münir Karaloğlu, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Ankara, Counselor Khalil Ibrahim Mahmoud, and the Military Attaché, Brigadier General, Muqdad Jawad Kazim."
It added, "The minister is scheduled to hold an official bilateral discussion session with his Turkish counterpart, which will address a number of common files between the two sides, as they will discuss frameworks for joint cooperation in many important files, especially in combating crime in all its forms, exchanging information and expertise, and securing common borders."
Al-Shammari will also meet, according to the statement, "Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler , to discuss enhancing security cooperation and achieving common interests between the two friendly countries and peoples."
