Ahmed al-Asadi, Iraq's minister of labor and social affairs, declared on Thursday that the country's poverty rate had dropped.
"The poverty rate in Iraq decreased to 16.5%, and in Diyala it reached 18.8%, according to the outputs of the socio-economic census announced by the Ministry of Planning," Al-Asadi stated during a press conference in the province of Diyala, which was attended by an Iraqi News Agency (INA) reporter.
