In the Iraqi Naval Operations Arena, the Um Qasr Naval Base Command and the Pakistani Navy conducted a joint naval drill on Thursday.
The command said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "a joint naval drill was carried out between the command of Um Qasr naval base and Pakistani , in the Iraqi naval field of operations, in implementation of the directives of the naval force, Lieutenant General Mazen Abdul Wahid Kabyan, and the follow-up of the commander of Um Qasr naval base, and within the framework of joint military cooperation between Iraq and Pakistan and at the end of the visit of the Pakistani delegation to Iraq."
"The exercise was attended by the patrol boat (P-310) of the Second Patrol Boat Battalion, the First Navy Brigade of the base above, and from the Pakistani side the ship (PMS DEHSHAT 1072)," it said, noting that "this drill represents the interception of a terrorist ship at sea to confront illegal acts, and this joint drill is a joint drill to develop skills and exchange experiences between the two navies."
"At the end of the drill, the commander of the Pakistani ship praised the readiness and experience of the Iraqi patrol boat crew and their individual skills in Iraqi territorial waters," the command continued.
