Ancelotti Praises Real Madrid Players’ Attitude After Intercontinental Cup Final Win

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti said that he liked his players' attitude following an Intercontinental Cup final win against Pachuca on Wednesday.

The reigning Spanish, European and now world champion was too much for its Mexican foe, and achieved a comfortable 3-0 victory at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo and this week's The Best recipient Vinicius Jr.

This brought about Ancelotti's 15th title in the Madrid dugout, which is a new record, and Ancelotti was naturally pleased with hitting such a milestone.

"It's a lot of titles. I'm very happy, it's a success," he said post match.
"The beginning [of the match] was a bit complicated, but then we took control and finished well. There was a difference in quality, but we needed attitude. In the end I liked the attitude of the players and up front they made the difference".
Asked if his winger Vinicius is indeed the best player in the world, Ancelotti declined the opportunity to answer the question directly and preferred to compliment his attack on the whole.
"Offensively we did well, there is a lot of quality. Kylian (Mbappe) played a good game, Rodrygo scored the second... We are very happy. We have won another title well," he stated.
Also netting against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, in a thrilling 3-3 La Liga draw, Rodrygo admitted in a separate interview that he still encounters "a little difficulty" playing thanks to the two muscle injuries he's suffered so far this season.
"It's a bit f*cked up because you want to be good and help the team, but you can't. Everyone helped me in this process. I feel good and I hope to be better physically every day, because I know I can help in many ways," he added.

Now that Madrid has this fixture out of the way, it can turn its attention back towards the domestic title race and focus on Sevilla at home on Sunday.
