Saudi Arabia celebrates Iraqi culture as part of the "Between Two Cultures"

    Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday to be celebrating Iraqi culture on Wednesdayas part of the "Between Two Cultures" event, organized by the Ministry of Culture there to enhance the common cultural and historical ties between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom.


    The event will be launched at "Mega Studio" in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and will continue until December 31st, presenting diverse cultural content that reflects the rich heritage of the two brotherly countries.


    According to the organizers, the event offers "a rich journey that combines sensory, visual, and auditory experiences in an immersive atmosphere that encourages visitors to interact and enjoy the cultures of the two brotherly countries, through four main sections, starting with the first section of the art exhibition, which includes more than 100 artworks by prominent Saudi and Iraqi artists, to reflect the deep cultural similarity between the Kingdom and Iraq. It also highlights prominent historical milestones based on reliable research, covering various cultural sectors, reflecting elegant cultural diversity and sophisticated creativity in a harmonious space."


    The event includes the host, which contains the "Dialogue Between Two Civilizations" track, which embodies the history of the Saudi and Iraqi statesand the extent of the deep-rooted interconnected relations throughout the ages, confirming the cultural connection between them.


    The second section included Al-Mutanabbi Street, "the Arabic calligraphy mural between two cultures," and Al-Mutanabbi's poems, in addition to Al-Shabandar Café. The street embodies the cultural value represented by the poet Abu Al-Tayeb Al-Mutanabbi in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, as the street is considered one of the most prominent cultural landmarks in the exhibition; to reflect the authentic literary and cultural atmosphere through shops full of books, in addition to seminars that discuss cultural and intellectual topics related to the history of the two countries, and the visitor’s experience is completed with musical performance; each element in it connects the visitor to a rich cultural history.


    In the third section, the theater hosts "classical concerts that suit the atmosphere of the event, with the participation of the most prominent Saudi and Iraqi artists, including artist Abbadi Al-Johar, artist Kadhim Al-Saher, artist Naseer Shimma, artist Nawaf Al-Jabarti, and artist Aseel Hameem. The Iraqi artist Saadoun Jaber and the late lyric poet Karim Al-Iraqi will also be honored in appreciation of their contributions to enriching the artistic and cultural scene."


    Finally, the fourth section, "The Path of Connection", displays "various areas in Saudi and Iraqi culture that enrich the visitor's experience, and introduce him to the components of the two cultures through the children's area, which is distinguished by a lively and creative character with colors that suit the target group, and they enjoy traditional games that reflect Saudi and Iraqi culture, and the activities vary between arts, handicrafts, and storytelling in an interactive way that consolidates learning and fun."


    The event will also witness the emergence of the restaurant area it offers a unique experience that combines Saudi and Iraqi flavors; to reflect the cultural heritage and authentic taste of the two countries, where visitors can enjoy tasting traditional dishes that represent part of the identity and culture of each country, in addition to cafes that provide a wide range of hot and cold drinks, including the distinctive Saudi coffee with a cardamom flavor, and Iraqi tea with its traditional flavor, which embodies the spirit of authentic Arab hospitality.


    The "Between Two Cultures" event also aims to "enrich cultural knowledge through innovative artistic experiences that showcase the Saudi and Iraqi civilizations and highlight the shared heritage and arts between the two countries, to contribute to strengthening cultural relations between the two brotherly peoples of Saudi Arabia and Iraq."
