The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, on Thursday, that the Iraqi border is fully secured, pointing out that no threats will be allowed.
Yarallah said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Iraqi border is good, reassuring and fully secured."
"The situation in Syria is unstable and we will not allow our borders to be threatened," he said, noting that "the border has been reinforced by a defensive line from the army and the PMF."
He stressed that "the Minister of Interior showed great interest in the Syrian border, as the concrete wall, cameras and defense line are present, army units and the PMF, as well as the continuation of reinforcements at the border by the Ministry of Interior."
"There is no friction with the forces on the Syrian side," he said.
