National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji chaired a meeting today, Wednesday, of the Iraqi and international technical working groups responsible for implementing the Global Framework Agreement for the Return of Iraqi Citizens from Northeastern Syria.
The media office of National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "National Security Adviser Qasim Al-Araji chaired a meeting of the Iraqi and international technical working groups responsible for implementing the Global Framework Agreement for the Return of Iraqi Citizens from Northeastern Syria, in the presence of the Deputy UN Representative and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Iraq, Ghulam Isaac, and international organizations working in the humanitarian field."
"The meeting discussed evaluating the work of the groups for the past year within the established work plan, and the challenges and work plan of the groups for 2025 were also discussed."
Al-Araji stressed during the meeting "the importance of making more efforts to accelerate the return of Iraqi families based on the recent changes on the Syrian scene."
