Prime Minister stresses importance of Spanish companies' presence to invest in Iraq

    The Prime Minister discussed with a Spanish company the project to establish the Najaf-Karbala investment railway line while stressing the importance of the presence of Spanish companies to invest in Iraq.

    A statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - said: "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received at his residence in the capital Madrid, today, Friday, a delegation representing the Imathia Consulting Company, which specializes in trains."

    The Prime Minister stressed - according to the statement - the importance of the presence of Spanish companies to invest in Iraq, noting that the signing of two previous contracts with Imathia Company falls within the confidence enjoyed by Spanish companies in the investment sector in Iraq.

    During the meeting - according to the statement - discussions were held with the company regarding the project to establish the Najaf-Karbala investment railway line and their proposal to extend the line to Baghdad, as a contract had previously been signed with the company to establish two railway lines (Basra-Shalamcheh), and a memorandum of understanding to establish the railway line (Mehran-Kut-Karbala).
