Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed, today, Thursday, that his visit to Spain is the culmination of the historical relations between the two countries.
Al-Sudani said in a tweet on the "X" platform - followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Our visit to Spain is the culmination of the historical relations that unite our two countries and peoples in various fields."
Al-Sudani added, "We thanked the Kingdom of Spain, government and people, for the hospitality and reception, and we explained that what was achieved today is a continuation of what was previously agreed upon during the visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to Baghdad at the end of last year."
Al-Sudani continued, "We chaired an expanded meeting with Sanchez in which important memorandum of understanding were signed in the fields of security, economy, industry, trade and justice, and we agreed on the importance of the private sector's presence in developing economic relations between the two countries, and we appreciated the noble and humanitarian Spanish position on the Palestinian issue, the war on Gaza and Lebanon, and we stressed the need to stop the war in Gaza, as happened in Lebanon to achieve stability in the region and the world."
