TikTok Hosts Workshop in Iraq to Promote Digital Literacy and Media Culture

    TikTok organised a workshop in Iraq aimed at fostering digital awareness and enhancing media culture.
     
    The workshop, titled TikTok 101, focused on creating a safe and thriving digital environment tailored to serve the TikTok community in Iraq. It also emphasized collaborative efforts to achieve and reinforce these goals.
     
    Malaak Jafar, Director of Awareness and Partnerships for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, presented the platform’s mission and core values. She highlighted TikTok’s commitment to supporting creativity and free expression within a secure digital space. The presentation covered key features of the platform and its safety protocols, including tools designed to ensure a safe user experience.
     
    The workshop addressed strategies for fostering content creation by encouraging Iraqi creators to express themselves in innovative and engaging ways.
     
    Jafar explained that the session included an introduction to TikTok, an overview of its features, and a guide to utilizing its tools and safety measures. It also provided insights into creating educational and entertaining content while adhering to best practices for digital safety, personal information protection, and privacy preservation.
     
     
    Commenting on the event, Jafar stated:
