Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari confirmed on Friday that the unified ID card system in Jordan will be available to all Iraqis in other countries, noting that this system will facilitate procedures for Iraqis abroad.
Al-Shammari told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Ministry of Interior has opened a permanent system for the central registration of the unified national ID card," pointing out that "this system will facilitate all Iraqis abroad to issue or renew the national card."
He added that "there are thousands of Iraqi community do not have the national ID card, so the ministry worked to open this system in the Jordanian capital, especially since the electronic passport depends mainly on the unified ID card," noting that "the Ministry of Interior seeks to make the national card the basis in the official documents."
"This system includes all Iraqis in Jordan and in the countries of the region nearby, and will work smoothly and easily because of the presence of all data in the device that has been installed in this system," he said.
