The Meteorological and Seismic Monitoring Authority announced, today, Sunday, that an earthquake was recorded on the Iraqi-Syrian border.
The Authority said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "An earthquake struck the Iraqi-Syrian border, about 85 km from Nineveh Governorate."
It added, "The magnitude of the earthquake reached (2.1) degrees and occurred on the Iraqi-Syrian border, about 85 km from Tal Afar District - Nineveh Governorate, and was recorded at 7:7:40 pm on Sunday."
It indicated that "the earthquake was not felt by citizens living near its occurrence.
