Dhi Qar Criminal Court: Execution of a terrorist who killed Iraqi army officers in 2014

The Dhi Qar Criminal Court issued two death sentences against a terrorist criminal for the crime of killing two people in the Iraqi army in 2014 for terrorist motives.

The Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the criminal, who belongs to the terrorist ISIS entity, kidnapped and killed two officers working in the Ministry of Defense, one of them with the rank of lieutenant colonel and the second with the rank of lieutenant in Nineveh Governorate/Hamdaniya District."

The statement continued, "The two sentences were issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 2/1/3/5/8 and in accordance with Article 4/1 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 13 of 2005."
