The European Union confirmed, today, Saturday, Iraq's progress in equipment, devices and training in securing the borders, while indicating that there is continuous effort and dedication from the Iraqi government and the competent authorities to control and manage the borders.
The European Union Ambassador to Iraq, Thomas Seiler, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "My assessment of the work on the borders and their management is a great progress for Iraq, not only in the devices and equipment used but also in the trained people and the focus on them."
He added that "Iraq's borders are very large and long, and through the use of new and modern equipment and through digitization and automation, we can focus on priority areas."
Seiler explained that "the Iraqi government, the Border Guard Command, and the Iraqi authorities working in this regard are working hard and with all effort and dedication to maintain this control and better border management."
