Al-Sudani Commended Diyala Governorate’s Efforts in Infrastructure Projects and Announces New Service Projects

    Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani chaired a meeting today, Wednesday, with service sector officials in Diyala Governorate, in the presence of the Ministers of Health, Construction and Housing, the Diyala Governor, the Chairman of the Provincial Council, the General Coordinator for Provincial Affairs, and a number of advisors and government officials.
     
    A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated:”During the meeting, the Prime Minister listened to briefings from various directors on the service realities across different sectors in the governorate.”
     
     He also reviewed investment, school infrastructure, and current and future projects.
     
    The Prime Minister emphasized that field visits to monitor the progress of important projects are a key approach to addressing challenges and ensuring timely implementation. He stressed the importance of teamwork between the federal government and local governments, which serve as the second executive arm after ministries.
     
    Prime Minister Al-Sudani noted that the government has provided financial allocations and support, focusing on completing projects that have been delayed for years. He pointed out that Diyala’s infrastructure projects are progressing well and are key to the stability and development of the province.
     
    The Prime Minister announced the inclusion of several new projects in various districts of Diyala, funded by both local allocations and ministries, in addition to the government’s ongoing infrastructure projects. He emphasized that Diyala is a symbol of Iraq’s diversity and has made great sacrifices in the fight against dictatorship and terrorism. The new projects include:
     
    ■ Construction of 99 schools across Diyala, funded by the Iraq Development Fund.
     
    ■ Al-Muqdadiya District Sewerage Project, valued at 56.6 billion dinars.
     
    ■ Central District of Balad Ruz Sewerage Project, valued at 45.4 billion dinars.
     
    ■ Jalawla Sewerage Project, valued at 44.1 billion dinars.
     
    ■ Khanaqin District Sewerage Project, valued at 40 billion dinars.
     
    ■ Bahraz Sewerage Project, valued at 28.5 billion dinars.
     
    ■ Bani Saad Sewerage Project, valued at 21.25 billion dinars.
     
    ■ Kanaan Sewerage Project, valued at 17.5 billion dinars.
