Al-Allak Discusses Several Subjects with the Bishops of Mosul and Baghdad

INA - BAGHDAD

General Secretary of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Mahdi al-Allak, discussed with the Bishop of Mosul and the joining delegation a number of subjects that concern the Christian constituent in Mosul and Baghdad.

An announcement by the General Secretary’s information office, received by the INA on Tuesday, said that ‘Allak assured the delegation that he will visit the Nineveh governorate soon to oversee the work at a church site in the old city of Mosul (the right bank) and see how to respond to the demands raised by the Bishop of Mosul after the walls of a church there were demolished during the process of reconstruction.’

During this meeting the General Secretary discussed also the issue of the ‘Virgin’s Church’, in Shorjah area, Baghdad, and see for the Baghdad Bishop’s demands to restore it and bring it back to life.
