Croatian star Luka Modric surpassed the international record of his former Real Madrid teammate, Sergio Ramos, by participating in his country's match against its guest, Scotland, today, Saturday.
Veteran Luka Modric entered the starting lineup, chosen by coach Zlatko Dalic, to face his guest Scotland, in the elite league of the European Football Nations League.
The Croatian star participated in his 181st match for his country's national team today, surpassing by one match the international record of Sergio Ramos, with the Spanish national team.
Luka Modric became eighth in the list of players with the most international matches, with 181 matches, only two matches behind Qatari Hassan Al-Haydos and Omani Ahmed Mubarak, and 3 matches behind Egyptian Ahmed Hassan and 6 matches behind Argentine Lionel Messi.
While the list is topped by the veteran Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo (39 years old) with 214 matches so far.
