Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, confirmed on Monday the successful receipt of the first batch of armored vehicles produced by the Defense Industries Commission (DIC). These vehicles are slated for deployment to the Rapid Intervention Division and tactical units across various provinces.
In an official statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Shammari declared: "Within the framework of strategic agreements with the DIC, the Ministry of Interior has formally received the initial batch of armored combat vehicles. These vehicles will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Rapid Intervention Division and tactical units, reinforcing their ability to maintain internal security."
He further explained: "These armored vehicles have undergone extensive trials conducted by specialized joint technical committees from both the Ministry of Interior and the DIC. The tests confirmed their superior performance in protection, firepower, maneuverability, and advanced communication systems."
Al-Shammari emphasized the ministry’s unwavering commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the DIC, noting: "We have signed more than 10 strategic contracts to secure armored vehicles, weaponry, and essential military equipment. This partnership ensures that the Ministry of Interior is equipped with the highest standards of military technology. Our continued support for the DIC remains a cornerstone in ensuring the operational readiness of our security forces across all sectors."
