    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani participated today in the Summit of the Future 2024 held in New York, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
    The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that the Prime Minister participated in the Future Summit, which was held in New York on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
     
    The summit aims to enhance cooperation on key challenges, address gaps in global governance, and reaffirm existing commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations Charter. It also seeks to lay the groundwork for more effective global cooperation in dealing with today’s challenges and potential future threats.
     
    In his speech at the summit, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to taking serious steps toward sustainable development and effectively responding to the goals of the National Development Plan (2024–2028) through the adoption of comprehensive strategic reforms.

     We are working to enhance economic reform and improve conditions for the most vulnerable groups.
     
     We have adopted a strategy that promotes social justice and strengthens vulnerable groups by building human resource capacities through education and healthcare improvements, and focusing on youth and women.

     We support investments aimed at diversifying the economy beyond oil, with a focus on the role of the private sector in providing job opportunities.
     
     Sustainable development requires ambitious investments, and we are keen to provide incentives for the private sector and invest in renewable energy projects.
     
     We are strengthening our international relations based on mutual respect and shared interests, and we are committed to the principle of not allowing our land to be used for aggression against other nations.
     
     We support all efforts to advance human rights and involve civil society organizations in achieving development goals.
     
     Achieving peace requires a shared international effort, and diplomacy and dialogue are the keys to achieving stability.
     
     We call for enhanced international cooperation in the areas of land, sea, cyber, and space security to ensure comprehensive security.
     
     Science and technology are the foundation of sustainable development, and we are working to transition to a digital economy and provide an integrated database to support decision-making.
     
     We aim to strengthen international cooperation in technology transfer and capacity building, while supporting Iraqi inventors in all fields.
     
     We encourage scientific research in clean technologies for oil and gas and are working to enhance technical education to equip youth with the skills needed for the modern job market.
     
     International cooperation is essential to ensure countries have the tools and capacities needed to responsibly and ethically harness artificial intelligence.
     
     We stress the importance of adopting clear strategies for the safe and responsible use of AI for the benefit of humanity.
     
     We strive to create a supportive environment for youth by organizing workshops to enhance their role in development.
     
     We are committed to providing advanced educational opportunities and training programs, and we cooperate with the UN to develop youth development measurement indicators.
