Al-Mandalawi: Current circumstances demand constant unity and resilience

    The Acting Speaker of the Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, affirmed on Saturday, that the current circumstances necessitate a continuous need for unity and resilience, emphasizing the commitment of the people's representatives to fulfil their constitutional duties to strengthen the state's sovereignty.
     
    The media office of the Acting Speaker stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Al-Mandalawi congratulated the Iraqi people and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his pure family and chosen companions."
     He highlighted "the importance of emulating the greatest symbol of humanity and illuminating our paths with the teachings and goals of the noble Prophet and his exalted message, which guarantees a dignified life in this world and success in the hereafter."
     
    In his speech during the central celebration organized by the Sunni Endowment at the Um al-Qura Mosque in Baghdad, Al-Mandalawi stated: "The current phase that our country is experiencing calls for the solidarity of the state and the people to confront the triad of threats facing our nation, represented by (corruption, terrorist ideologies, and the scourge of drugs and psychoactive substances)."
    He noted that "these threats have external instigators and internal Incubators and have begun to manifest in various forms that require the modernization of deterrent and confrontational strategies."
     
    Al-Mandalawi asserted that "the current circumstances demand a constant need for unity and resilience, working to restore our Islamic nation to its humanitarian and leading values. Additionally, it is essential to reaffirm our allegiance to Islam and our noble Prophet, both in word and deed, in the face of intellectual invasion, and to maintain steadfastness in intellectual and social battles, along with repelling and resisting economic and military aggression."
     
    He reiterated the commitment of the people's representatives to "perform their constitutional duties (legislative and oversight) with integrity and dedication to enhance the state's sovereignty, standing side by side on foreign policy matters, particularly the principled stance on the Palestinian cause, and providing further political and humanitarian support to our brothers in Palestine and Gaza."
