On Sunday, national team player Ayman Hussein reassured Iraqi fans about his improved and stable health, thanking everyone who stood by him and supported him, whether in Iraq or Kuwait, after his injury in the recent Iraq-Oman match.
Hussein said in a statement by the Football Association received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "From here, from my place of residence in the hospital, I will wear the national team shirt, and support my colleagues, cheering them on to continue the series of good results in the World Cup qualifiers, and move forward towards the World Cup directly."
The statement added, "Our national team star is being directly followed up and sponsored by the President of the Iraqi Football Association Adnan Darjal. Today, the national team's administrative director, Mahdi Karim, and the equipment manager, Haqi Ibrahim, visited the player at his residence in Al-Sabah Chest Hospital."
