The President of the Kuwait Football Association, Haif Al-Mutairi, confirmed that the Kuwaiti authorities allowed the entry of two hundred Iraqi fans to attend the Kuwait-Iraq match.
Al-Mutairi said in a television statement followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Kuwaiti authorities allowed the entry of two hundred Iraqi fans to attend the Kuwait-Iraq match."
Al-Mutairi added, "We have a good relationship with our brothers in the Iraqi embassy and the Iraqi Federation and they are welcome in Kuwait, but there is a clear policy and a specific number of Iraqi fans has been determined to attend the match," indicating that "the number has not been clearly determined, but it may be more than 200 people."
