The office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani dispatched a team today, Saturday, to visit the Maysan marshes to verify the death of fish and put in place treatments.
A government source told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani sent a team headed by the Advisor for Agricultural Affairs in the Advisory Board and the membership of the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and the relevant authorities, accompanied by the Director of the Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), to visit the marshes in Maysan and conduct examinations and verify the death of fish and put in place treatments to prevent their recurrence in other places."
The Maysan Agriculture Directorate announced, last Thursday, government measures to preserve fish and animal wealth in the marshes.
