Artist Ayad Al-Taie plays the role of King Richard III of England (1452-1485) in the play "Richard III."
Artist Ayad told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the play will be shown at the National Theater, as part of the 2024 theatre season of the Cinema and Theater Department at the Ministry of Culture, noting that "rehearsals will currently be taking place in the internal halls of Al-Rashid Theater."
It is noteworthy that Richard III is a historical play written by Shakespeare in 1591, which dealt with the ugliness of power, with Richard seizing the kingdom and imprisoning the two legitimate heirs to the crown.
