Iraqi Foreign Minister Makes Phone Call to Saudi Counterpart

    INA - BAGHDAD

    Iraqi Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ali al-Hakim, discussed on Monday with his Saudi counterpart the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

    A statement by the Foreign Ministry, copy of which was received by the INA, discloses that ‘al-Hakim has made a phone call to the new Saudi foreign minister, Ibrahim al-Assaf, to congratulate and wish him success in his new mission as foreign minister of Saudi Arabia.’

    The statement explains also that the call involved ‘discussing, as well as strengthening, the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries through the Iraqi-Saudi ministerial coordination council, along with the latest events in the region.’ also ‘stressing on the strengthening of relationships through continuous communication and consultation between the two sides to the best interests of the two brotherly nations and the region.’
