As per the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yehia Rasool, the spokesman, verified that the security services are still targeting the remnants  of Daesh.

"The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces directed the implementation of pre-emptive operations against the remaining terrorist Daesh gangs under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command," Rasool said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Thursday.

Rasool commended military intelligence for its efforts in conducting reconnaissance missions and keeping an eye on the movements of the remaining Daesh gangs. He pointed out that the recent attack on the gangs in Kirkuk occurred following three days of intensive observation, during which time the Iraqi Air Force aircraft were ordered to launch two precise airstrikes against their hideouts.

He pointed out that "the intelligence effort, pre-emptive operations, coordination and great supervision of the Joint Operations Command has a great role in directing the sectors and intelligence services, as well as other resources from the Iraqi Air Force, army aviation and reconnaissance aircraft to target the remaining of these terrorist gangs, stressing the continuation of all security services and non-stop targeting the remaining of these defeated terrorist elements."
