Lt. Gen. Qais al-Muhammadawi, the deputy commander of joint operations, arrived in Diyala on Wednesday.
"The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, arrived today in Diyala , and was received by the commander of Diyala operations and the provincial police commander," the Joint Operations Command stated in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The purpose of the visit was to inspect the security units, assess their preparedness, and update plans in accordance with the challenges and task priorities," the statement continued.
