Iraq, Kuwait discuss securing the joint border and combating drug trafficking

Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Tariq Abdullah al-Faraj discussed, on Tuesday, securing common borders and combating drugs.
 
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry of Interior-MOI said that “Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari met, in his office today, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Iraq, Tariq Abdullah al-Faraj,” explaining that “during this meeting, they discussed cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries in the security fields related to the work of the Ministry of Interior.”
 
The statement further stated that “the need to exert more efforts to reach greater cooperation in the field of securing common borders, combating drugs, psychotropic substances and organized crime, exchange of information as well as in the field of training was emphasized,” noting that “the expected visit by the Minister of Interior to the State of Kuwait next July was discussed.”
