The Saudi Football Federation announced on Tuesday, that it will host the West Asian Youth Football Championship - WAFF in its third edition, with 12 teams participating, including Iraq.
“The Championship is hosted in the city of Taif. It will be held from June 25 to July 5, 2024, with the participation of 12 teams, 11 teams from the West Asia region, namely (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain, the Emirates, and Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine), in addition to the Albanian national team,” according to a statement by the Saudi Football Federation.
The host Saudi Federation revealed that “the Championship will be held at King Fahad Sports City Stadium and at Okaz Club Stadium. June 18 has been set as the date for the draw for the Championship. Its system and mechanism for distributing the participating teams will be circulated, in addition to announcing the official schedule for matches."
