Minister of Communications, Hiyam Al-Yasiri, today, Thursday, discussed with Amazon the establishment of a data center to provide Internet content to Iraq.
The Ministry of Communications media stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The Minister of Communications held a meeting with representatives of Amazon International, via video conference technology, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation with the Ministry and its affiliated public companies.”.
He added, "During the meeting, a number of important issues were discussed, including the introduction of an Amazon data center in Iraq and the provision of global Internet content at reasonable prices to users.".
The Minister stressed - according to the statement - “continuing partnership with international companies specialized in information technology, including Amazon, in a way that contributes to improving the services provided to citizens and enhancing the country’s economic development.”
