President Vladimir Putin nominated Mikhail Mishustin for the Prime Minister. His candidacy was submitted to the State Duma, Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.
"President Putin submitted the candidacy of Mikhail Mishustin for the head of the government to the State Duma," Volodin said on Telegram.
The State Duma will consider the nominee on May 10.
The Government of Russia resigned shortly after inauguration of President Putin on May 7. The Russian leader signed the order on resignation of the government, who continued performing their duties until formation of the new government.
Mikhail Mishustin has led the Cabinet of Ministers since January 2020.
