The Iraqi government's intention to gain from French companies' experience was confirmed on Wednesday by Finance Minister Taif Sami.
"Finance Minister Taif Sami, received the French ambassador to Baghdad Patrick Durel and the director of the French Development Agency (FDA) Serge SNRECH, and at the beginning of the meeting the minister congratulated the ambassador on the occasion of assuming his new duties," reads a statement from the ministry obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The FDA and Iraq discussed areas of cooperation, particularly in the areas of investment, technical assistance, and finance. Additionally, they talked about how to improve comprehensive economic and development relations."
In many areas that are at the top of the priorities of sustainable development plans, particularly in the area of contributing to infrastructure reconstruction projects and providing technical support and assistance, the Minister of Finance praised "the level of fruitful cooperation with the French Development Agency."
