Al-Sudani began his official visit to the French Republic

    The media office stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Sudani began, today, Thursday, in Paris, the work of his one-day official visit to the French Republic, during which he will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron, the French Prime Minister, and a number of senior officials." In the French government, as well as a number of representatives of French companies and the business sector.

    During the visit, His Excellency will meet French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron, the French Prime Minister, several senior government officials, and a number of representatives of French companies.

    This official visit of the Prime Minister with a high-level government delegation aims at developing opportunities for close cooperation with the French Republic and provide prospects for investment and trade exchange in line with the government's efforts to achieve the objectives and address the priorities set by the government program and for the development of economic infrastructure.

    The visit will witness the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between Iraq and France, which will include many sections related to cooperation in the economic, investment, and security sectors, combating terrorism and extremism, cultural exchange, and promoting peace in the two countries, the Middle East region and the world.

    The agreement will also include promoting the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, cooperation in the field of crisis management, combating economic and organized crime, protecting the environment, and promoting human rights and education.

    The visit will witness the signing of a bilateral memorandum of understanding in combating corruption and recovering stolen Iraqi money extraditing Iraqi wanted individuals and the signing of several other memoranda of understanding related to investment in energy and the oil sector, clean energy, and investment in associated gas projects.

    The visit will include a joint discussion in the field of antiquities protection and the signing of the Iraqi-French Declaration on Cultural Heritage and Antiquities Maintenance. In addition to holding talks with several French companies related to developing transport sectors through activating vital transport projects.
