Spain: Football Association is under guardianship

The Spanish government announced today, Thursday, that the Football Association has been placed under guardianship, after it was involved in a corruption case.

The Supreme Sports Council of the Spanish Ministry of Sports said, “The government adopted this decision to redress the dangerous situation of the Spanish Football Federation, so that it can begin the renewal phase in a climate of stability.”
