Prime Minister: Dialogues with President Biden were characterized by frankness and clarity

    Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani confirmed today, Friday, that Iraq is witnessing a stage of political maturity and stability accompanied by a strong urban and economic renaissance, while he stated that the dialogues with President Biden were characterized by frankness and clarity.
     
     
    Prime Minister’s Media Office stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received this evening, Friday (Baghdad time), at his residence in Washington, a number of former United States ambassadors who served in Iraq. This was on the sidelines of his official visit to the United States of America.
    During the meeting, Al-Sudani expressed his "appreciation for the efforts made by the ambassadors, in their diplomatic positions, at an important stage in Iraq's history, starting with the change in 2003, the launch of the political process and the building of the new Iraq."
    Al-Sudani pointed out that “Iraq today is witnessing a stage of political maturity and stability accompanied by a strong urban and economic renaissance,” stressing that “his current visit to the United States came at a precise and sensitive time, but it highlighted the seriousness that the government takes regarding partnership, cooperation and sustainable relations, and that the end of the mission the international coalition does not mean abandoning relations, but rather moving to bilateral coordination with all countries that participated in the coalition, especially in light of the development of the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces and the decline and defeat of terrorist groups.”
    He explained, "His dialogues with President Biden and members of the American administration were characterized by frankness and clarity, and in an ambiance of mutual concern for the success of bilateral relations, especially in the files being worked on in the economic fields, which are in line with the government's plans to address major challenges such as unemployment and launch initiatives that it serves the youth category, improving the level of services, and implementing economic and financial reforms.”
